Kibber to Tsokar Lake Trek and Sightseeing in Spiti and Ladakh

Day 01: Delhi to Manali overnight journey 14hours

Day 02: Manali
Arrival at Manali by morning at 08:30 hrs (Volvo Coach). On arrival met our representative and transfer to hotel. Day at Leisure. Stay overnight at a hotel. 

Day 03: Manali – Kaza.
Travel by jeep over 3,978 Rohtang pass, gateway to Lahaul, then continue by jeep over 4.358 meter Kunzam la to Losar, the first village in the Spiti valley. Continue by jeep to Kaza, the modern capital of Spiti. On arrival check in to guest house. Overnight stay.

Day 04: Kaza
The day is for excursion. After breakfast drive to Dhankar Monastery, the former capital of Spiti, high above the confluence of the Pin and Spiti rivers. Then continue towards Tabo Gompa, one of the greatest artistic treasures in the Himalayan region, to view its paintings and sculptures, some of which are over 1,000 years old. After exploring the area drive back to Kaza for night stay.

Day 05: Kaza – Kibber
Today we will drive towards Kibber village, famed as the world’s highest village with electricity & daily bus service. On the way visit the Key Monastery. On arrival check in to guest house. After relax visit the Kibber Monastery. Overnight stay at Kibber.

Day 07: Kibber
Local walk around Kibber: to Gete and Tashigang, two villages among the highest permanent settlements on earth. Return to Kibber for the night.

Day 08: Kibber - Pangrochen
Trek to Pangrochen, the last camp before Parang la. Only a small spring sustains life at this high, rocky campsite.

Day 09: Pangrochen - Parang La
Trek over 5,577 metre Parang la and descend the dazzling Parang glacier to the lovely oasis of Kharsa Gongma.

Day 10: Parang La - Pare Chu
Trek down the valley of the Pare Chu (river) to Tarang Yogma. Overnight stay in tent.

Day 11: Pare Chu - Norbu Sumdo
Continue down the Pare Chu, cross the river and camp at the broad oasis of Norbu Sumdo. Overnight stay in tent.

Day 12: Norbu Sumdo - Kayangdam
Trek to Kiangdam, on the southern shore of TSO Moriri, the "Mountain Lake". Overnight stay in tent/guest house.

Day 13: Kiangdam rest day
Rest day in the incredible setting of Kiangdam. Overnight stay in tent/guest house.

Day 14: Kiangdam - Korzok
Trek to Korzok, the village and Gompa at the northern shore of the lake. Overnight stay in tent/guest house.

Day 15: Korzok - Gyama
Trek past many large nomadic encampments over Gyamsharma La to Gyama. Overnight stay in tent.

Day 16: Gyama - Rajung Karu
Cross the Kyamamuri La to Rajung Karu. Overnight stay in tent.

Day 17: Rajung Karu - Nuruchan
Trek over the low ridge of Harlam Konka to the small village and Gompa of Nuruchan. Overnight stay in tent.

Day 18: Nuruchan - Tso Kar
Trek to Tso Kar, another of the remarkable lakes of the Changtang plains. Overnight stay in tent.

Day 19: Tso Kar - Tanglang La - Leh
Travel by jeep to over the 5,328-metre Tanglang la to Leh. Overnight at hotel.

Day 20: Leh – Shey – Thiksey - Hemis
On this day you will go a sightseeing trip to some ancient monasteries in this area.

Shey Gompa is about 15 kms from Leh. It used to be the summer palace of the kings of Ladakh. There are lots of Stupas and Gompas built around the palace. Shey palace was built by Deldan Namgyal in the beginning of 17’Th century AD. Main attraction in Shey is the 12m Shakyamuni Buddha statue inside the Dresthang Gompa.

Thiksey Gompa, close to Shey is about 17 kms from Leh. The monastery is considered to be one of the most beautiful in Ladakh and belongs to the Gelukspa order.

Hemis, about 45 kms south of Leh it is one of the most famous and largest monastery in Ladakh. It belongs to the Drukpa order and was founded in the early 17’Th century. The setting is perfect with the monastery cradled in a lovely valley, surrounded by streams and fronted by long Mani walls. Overnight stay at the guest house.

Day 21: Leh - Delhi
Morning flight to Delhi from Leh. On arrival transfer to international terminal.
